when researching other artist's logos we discovered that the name of the artist is the logo and identity of their name. They all use bold and eye-catching font to make each one of their names stand out and all have different styles and text to make their logo more personal to their style of music and songs.
Lana Del Rey is well known for her sophiscated and old fashion image in style and also her songs, by using this type of text links towards her image as an artist, the writing is simple yet by having it very bold and stand outs on the page, the use of black as well make it appeal to the eye. As it is in italics it adds to the old fashioned image, also giving it a feminine and classy style.
Again with Ellie Goulding this image is shown across all her albums and singles, so is iconic for our name for the writing to be in this particular style. She makes the writing bold and stand out on each one of her different cds, however just changing the colours of the singles songs to match the different themes that run with each one but still keeping with the same typograhy. I think this is important to keep the same text throughout each different product we do for our artist as the text/image will become regonisable for our artist, I like the idea of changing the text colour to keep within the style of the products as it gives an edge and it links with what we our promoting it with but still keeping with the same text.
We found with this research that images are hardly ever used for the logo of the artist, so by having the idea of using the red balloon and the artists name as the string coming down from it will give us that unique twist to our artist and will make our logo stand out within our genre of indie pop music.
