We want to include a digi-pak within our project as we think it will be more professional and realistic that are seen in albums currently. It will add a more personal effect that will show photography of our shoot giving a behind the scene effects for the audience. It adds more of their trademark to the album as it has their image and title around it making it theirs and standout.
Mumford and Sons- Sigh No More-
this digipak is very simple but still has a bold effect to it. The front cover has the typical conventions that a album cover should have. the image of the band and the writing of the band and album title, the image is in a setting that is "normal" for the audience very simple in a street road, with white building and the band itself standing within the front window of a shop with their insturments. The main colour that stands out in the image is the white building as is surrounded by dull coloured buildings, because the band are standing within the white buliding they also catch the audiences attention as they are wearing dark clothing against the white scenery.
Within the album cover the theme of the white background and colour continues through, this makes the inside of the album cover co-ordinate with the front of it making it look more professional, the image inside the album again follows the white building but having the band at different windows, because it is a white background of the building and the band members are wearing dark clothing they stand out. The image follows the same conventions and imagery of the album cover so it keeps this professional looking image for the audience, it is sleek and clean cut with the use of the white colour, and because of the band being folky and their songs contain alot of love lyrics it presents their album as the band being in this innocent state of love. The album cd is in black which contrasts against the white background and colour of the albums inside cover, this make it stand out and eyecatching, lifting it out to the audience almost, the title is in the same text and style of the album cover's title so again keeps the professional looking approach to the digi-pak.
Throughout the whole album inside and out it keeps the natural and nature effect that is seen throughout all videos, and images that is a typical convention of all indie pop artists.
I think this sleek and simple effect of this digi pak is something that I feel we should incorrupt into our digi pak as even though it only has a few images they all follow the same setting and makes it look more professional. It's bold and different to other albums that are seen as others use alot of imagery and bold colours onto their albums which sometimes looks too busy and messy so by having this country/folk feel which are song is also about as we are using a cover of a mumford and sons song, so by seeing what the actual band as done with their digi-pak will give us the ideas that a band within 'indie pop' genre.
By seeing that they have kept within the setting that they have done the main shoot of some of their videos for this particular album gives us the idea that we need to take photos of our setting and images of the artist/actor in the scenery that can keep to the video shoot, it will keep it looking professional as well as sleek.
