shots

We did some more shots today, concentrating on how we want to portray our character on the screen when she is reminising into the past. The camera quality is much better then the previous shots we recently did due to the outside enviroment, this is something we need to take into consideration as when looking at the closeup shots we werent happy with the quality and thought the picture would put a negative effect on our final piece, however as our final video is going to shot mainly outside due to being shot on the beach the quality of the camera will be similar to these shots done.

We wanted to interpurt some of the shots that we thought we would use within our final video, in our storyboard we have a shot of the main character looking out onto the sea over a barrier, so we visual see what the shots would look like before the main shoot. The use of different camera angles show us what shot would work best, I think the first screen shot of the medium closeup works well by showing all of the characters body language and the way she positions herself on the barrier will emphasise the mood she is in and the way that comes across to the audience. However i think the second screen shot of the closeup low angled shot of the character works best as the audience can clearly see the expressions in her face which will make a more clear image of how the character is feeling, also by having a low angled shot makes her become the main focus of the screen, she is taking up most of the shot so the audience are instantly drawn to her and make her seem more important and how this is the character the audience are going to follow.

this shot is interesting, the audience can see the character and also the surroundings she is in, having both the expression of sadness of the girl and also the setting of the sea will emphaise the isolation and loneliness of the character. She is looking out into the distance signifying she is lost and trying to find her way but looking out onto the sea can imply that she is unsure of where she is as the sea is a ever going around the world.

The shot below will show the main location of the shoot. Again bringing this sense of isolation and lostness to the character as she will on her own on this barrier looking out into the distance. Having the setting on the beach will bring the atmosphere of pain due to the waves crashing up against the rocks and waves coming in implying distruction and hurt in this characters life. A beach is associated with a romantic setting however with the colour setting of black and white we will use and the weather being winter, it will gives this mood onto the screen that this character is experiencing misery and a depressed atmosphere is giving off to the audience implying to the audience the troubles of this relationship and insight to what she is feeling.
